De Beers Group today announced a collaboration with Stuller Inc., the largest manufacturer and distributor of jewellery and jewellery-related tools, supplies, and equipment in the United States, to bring De Beers’ innovative diamond verification device, DiamondProof, to more retailers across the country.
This strategic collaboration underscores De Beers’ commitment to making DiamondProof - the company’s first diamond verification device designed for the retail sector - accessible at scale, empowering retailers with cutting-edge tools to enhance consumer confidence and trust in natural diamond purchases.
As De Beers’ US sales distributor, Stuller will manage the sales and distribution of DiamondProof in the US, facilitating direct delivery to customers and providing comprehensive after-sales support. Stuller will provide dedicated technical support, ensuring seamless integration and ongoing functionality.
Launched in retail stores in February, DiamondProof is De Beers’ latest verification instrument that detects the unique characteristics found only in natural diamonds, which formed deep within the Earth billions of years ago. In contrast, lab-grown diamonds are grown under entirely different conditions in an accelerated process which takes just a few weeks. With a zero percent ‘false positive rate*,’ the device will never mistake a lab-grown diamond as a natural diamond and delivers results within seconds.

*By leveraging technology similar to that used in De Beers’ SynthDetect instrument, the vast majority of natural diamonds will pass DiamondProof without requiring referral for further testing, with less than 1% needing additional evaluation. This advanced technology also ensures a 0% false positive rate for natural diamonds, guaranteeing that no synthetic diamonds will be mistakenly identified as natural.- ends -
