De Beers is working with Stanton Territorial Hospital Foundation and First Air, to “Keep the Beep Alive” through the “Wonders of the World” raffle in support of new monitors for the emergency ward at Stanton Territorial Hospital in Yellowknife.
Since 2007, De Beers has raised more than $230,000 for the Stanton Territorial Hospital Foundation through our annual diamond and vacation raffle.
“Diamonds are truly one of nature’s wonders, and De Beers is proud to offer this unique treasure from Snap Lake Mine to help the Hospital Foundation reach its goal of improving health care for NWT residents,” said Glen Koropchuk, Chief Operating Officer for De Beers in Canada.
All proceeds from ticket sales go directly to the Hospital Foundation to fund the purchase of two monitors for the emergency ward at Stanton Territorial Hospital.
“All patients requiring critical care need to be hooked up to a monitor,” said Rebecca Alty, executive director for the Hospital Foundation. “Right now, because the emergency unit is short one monitor, they occasionally need to take a patient off a monitor if somebody comes in and is in a more critical condition.”
The unit is also in need of a roving Infinity monitor used with patients being transported to various units throughout the hospital while remaining hooked up to the monitor.
There are only 600 tickets available for $100 each or three for $250. Tickets are available by contacting the Foundation at (867) 669-7382 or from De Beers at (867) 766-7300.
The Grand Prize is a 1.01 carat Snap Lake princess cut diamond with $1,000 toward a setting. The prize is valued at approximately $12,000.
Second prize is a trip for two to London, England with travel from Yellowknife, five nights’ accommodations and passes to some of London’s greatest attractions, including the Tower of London and Jewel House, valued at approximately $5,000.
Third prize is a flightseeing trip for two to see Virginia Falls in Nahanni National Park Reserve valued at about $3,900.
Fourth prize is a return flight pass for two to Edmonton from Yellowknife courtesy of First Air, valued at approximately $2,000.
Fifth prize is a basket of NWT arts and crafts, valued at $1,000.
Draw date is December 31, 2014.
