For the second year in a row the De Beers team won the Top Corporate Team Award at the 2016 CIBC Run for the Cure in Timmins.

Through their passion and dedication during this year’s fundraising, a team made up of employees from the Victor Mine and Timmins office raised more than $1,300.

The run raises funds for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation which invests the funds in ground-breaking breast cancer research, such as improving screening technology, developing new and targeted treatments, and discovering how to reduce the rate of recurrence. Team members do individual pledges and donations are also collected during town halls at the mine site.

More than 100,000 people took part in the event across Canada.
