Forevermark visit to Snap Lake featured in Japanese magazine

In September, well-known Japanese movie star Kaho Minami (wife of actor Ken Watanabe) visited Snap Lake Mine as part of a week-long promotional partnership with Forevermark Japan, Crossworks Manufacturing and Northwest Territories Tourism.

An actress and producer with over 70 film and production credits in her career, Kaho spent a week in Yellowknife for a December 2015 feature in GOLD Magazine, a major luxury publication in Japan. Having never visited a mine before, Kaho was impressed with the focus on safety, the commitment to the environment and the hard work that goes into recovering each diamond.

Her visit was captured in a six-page feature documenting the journey of a Forevermark diamond, from underground at Snap Lake to the people and places of the Northwest Territories that bring these beautiful, rare and responsibly sourced diamonds to the consumer. Among the stops showcasing this journey were the NWT Diamond Centre in Yellowknife and the Aurora Village, where the Northern Lights were out in spectacular fashion. GOLD Magazine will also include a two-page feature on the fabulous Forevermark diamonds from Crossworks Manufacturing, which is the company that has the agreement with the Government of the Northwest Territories to cut and polish up to 10 per cent of the Snap Lake production.
