De Beers is proud to support the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation (TADH) Annual Days Inn Spring Ball Lottery, which raised more than $260,000 at this year’s gala event on May 2, 2015.  De Beers has been a long-time supporter of the Foundation, having donated diamonds from the Victor Mine for the last six year as part of the gala raffle, which is he most sought after ticket in town each year. This year’s diamond donation was the top prize in the draw, which was a 1.13 carat Ideal Square Cut Diamond donated by De Beers Victor Mine valued at more than $10,000. It will be set locally by Cousineau Fine Jewellery in Timmins, bringing the total value of the prize to approximately $12,000.

This year’s winner of the De Beers diamond was Roger Fortin of Timmins.

De Beers Victor Mine also donated a live auction prize of a trip for two to the Victor Mine, with the successful bidder being Barb Pilon. Barb and her husband will be visiting the Victor Mine later this summer.

The Victor Mine is a remote fly-in/fly-out operation with the majority of the workforce residing in northern Ontario. The TADH is a key community partner of the Victor Mine as a provider of quality health care in the region.
