De Beers’ Feriel Zerouki has been nominated for a leading award in the international field of business compliance.
Feriel, Head of Government & Industry Relations, is one of nine on the shortlist for the ‘Innovator’ category in the fourth annual Women in Compliance Awards.
More than 300 leading compliance professionals are expected to attend the awards ceremony at Grosvenor House in London on 30 March where winners of 13 categories will be announced, including awards in the legal field.
Feriel said: ‘It’s rewarding to have your efforts noticed, but I am up against some seriously good contenders in this category. I have sought to take an innovatory approach to compliance to align with De Beers’ approach to the diamond business. But I couldn’t have got even this far without considerable support from my team.
“At De Beers, innovation is at the heart of everything we do as we look to grow and protect our business and the diamond industry as a whole.”
Feriel’s role is to preserve the integrity of De Beers and of the diamond supply chain. Previously, she managed the company’s Best Practice Principles after working as a supply chain analyst for four years. She is on the board of the World Diamond Council and the Responsible Jewellery Council.
Yvette Lingom, from organiser C5 Communications, said the shortlists represented “the top women talent in the industry and the awards ceremony will be our biggest, best and most representative yet”.
C5, based in London, is part of the C5 Group and sits alongside sister companies, American Conference Institute in New York and The Canadian Institute in Toronto. It specialises in business conferences for legal, regulatory and compliance teams.
