Benefits beyond mining.
De Beers sorts and sells rough diamonds to independent customers known as ‘Sightholders’ through De Beers Group Sightholder Sales (DBGSS).
De Beers has agreements with the Governments of the Northwest Territories and Ontario to make available for sale 10 per cent, by value, in economically cuttable categories of rough diamonds recovered from our Canadian mines.
HRA Group is a De Beers Sightholder, which has also been selected by both the Northwest Territories and Ontario to cut and polish the local 10 per cent of De Beers production made available in those jurisdictions. HRA Crossworks Manufacturing has established cutting and polishing facilities in Yellowknife (Northwest Territories) and Sudbury (Ontario).
Cut and polished diamonds are available in Canada from more than 30 jewelers selected to carry Forevermark diamonds, the diamond brand from The De Beers Group of Companies. Forevermark diamonds are only eligible to become Forevermark diamonds if they have met strict standards of beauty, rarity and responsible sourcing.
De Beers Jewellers has two retail locations in Canada (Vancouver, B.C. and Toronto, Ontario).
