The report evaluated software providers based on their “Ability to Execute” and “Completeness of Vision” on a global basis. 

Diamond giant De Beers Consolidated Mines (Ltd) (DBCM) has achieved a great deal in its empowerment of women, not only in executive management but more especially at an operational level.

The Magic Moment necklace takes centre stage at Natalia Vodianova’s fundraising event for the Naked Heart Foundation, supported by De Beers.

The De Beers Group today announced that David Noko, Managing Director of De Beers Consolidated Mines (DBCM), the Group’s South African mining entity,  will step down after eight years with the company; four years as its Managing Director. He will leave at the end of March 2010.

Of course, it is not just a New Year that we are entering, but also a new decade which, it must be said, offers great promise for the diamond industry.

Nicky, thank you for your remarks and for your leadership during these extraordinary times. Your experience, fortitude and wisdom have set an example for all of us. And on a personal note, I am grateful for your guidance and counsel during this period.

A warm welcome to all, not only to this reception, but also to a new year, a new decade and what many have been calling a ‘new normal’.

19 January 2010 – London – DTC Sightholders gathered in London this evening for the DTC Sightholder Reception, hosted by Nicky Oppenheimer, Chairman of De Beers Group, Gareth Penny, De Beers Group Managing Director and Varda Shine, DTC Managing Director.  The event provided Sightholders with an opportunity to discuss how the industry can create value as the recession gives way to recovery.

 For more than a year, the World Diamond Council has voiced its concerns regarding allegations of human rights abuses in Zimbabwe and significant examples of irregularities concerning Kimberley Process compliance.

DebTech, the research and development arm of De Beers, has developed body scanning technology which is currently used on De Beers mines in South Africa and Namibia.

Scannex is a low X-ray dose, full-body scanner  with an X-ray exposure small enough to allow for a number of scans to be performed on a person each year without health risks. 

Dec. 16 (Bloomberg) -- In November 2002, a unique alliance of 50 countries, the United Nations, a number of leading non- governmental organizations and the diamond industry came together to tackle the scourge of conflict diamonds. 

Last month, De Beers announced plans to sell its effective 70% share in the AK06 diamond deposit to Lucara Diamond Corporation, a Canadian junior diamond mining company, for US$49 million in cash. The sale was subject to a number of conditions including the consent of the Government of the Republic of Botswana.  De Beers is pleased to announce that these conditions have now been met, and the sale concluded.

In November 2002, a unique alliance of 50 countries, the United Nations, a number of leading NGOs and the diamond industry came together to tackle the scourge of conflict diamonds. The clear focus and determination of these players led to the creation of the Kimberley Process – an agreement of unparalleled scope in the natural resources sector. 

De Beers welcomes the launch, today, of the Responsible Jewellery Council’s (RJC) certification system, which will apply to all member companies in the diamond and gold jewellery supply chain.

LONDON, (Monday, 7th December, 2009) Stephen Lussier, CEO, Forevermark announced today that Forevermark has achieved over $100 million in retail sales within the first 12 months of launch.
