Process reject can be defined as either fine or coarse reject. Fine processed material is densified in thickeners in the process plant with the recovered water being re-used as process water.
Flocculant is added to the feed slurry to assist with the settling of the fine material. The thickened fines will be pumped to the fine reject disposal facility.
Course reject material will be conveyed to a course reject disposal facility. Some residue disposal facilities are designed to accept a combination of both fine and course reject.
