The De Beers family of companies published its first Report to Stakeholders in December 2006. Data in the Report to Stakeholders 2005/6 related to the 2005 calendar year. Narrative content and descriptions of policies and programmes covered the period January 2005 to December 2006. This performance update reports on data for the 2006 calendar year and identifies trends in performance over the last three years. 	The Report to Stakeholders 2005/6 demonstrates accountability against external commitments and standards including the UN Global Compact and the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) G3 sustainability reporting guidelines and indicators, the mining and metals supplement and the HIV/AIDS pilot indicators. Our use of the G3 indicators was checked by GRI and confirmed as an A+ application of the guidelines. The report reviewed the extent to which we have implemented and provided assurance against the Diamond Trading Company (DTC) Diamond Best Practice Principles (BPPs), our Principles and policies. It includes assurance by first, second, third and fourth party providers, as well as specialist reviewers, which confirm and comment on our performance.
